New router or Wi-Fi password? Reconnect your MHI air conditioner
Reconnect a supported Wi-Fi air conditioner after changing your router, network name or password. Check the connection before resetting anything.
A new router can leave an air conditioner looking for a network that no longer exists. MyAirco cannot send a new Wi-Fi password to a module it cannot reach on the home network. First work out whether the module needs Wi-Fi setup or simply has a new local address.
Did the Wi-Fi details change?
If the network name or password changed, reconnect the module using its setup process. Have the new Wi-Fi name, router password and module’s own KEY ready. Those are different credentials with different jobs.
If the name and password stayed the same, wait for the new router to finish starting and check its connected-device list. The module may already be connected. A new router can assign a different IP address even when the Wi-Fi name is unchanged.
Reconnect in a clear order
- Check the new networkConfirm that a compatible 2.4 GHz network is enabled and that it allows your phone to reach the airco.
- Set up one unit firstUse MyAirco’s guided setup and the instructions for your exact module. The full connection guide explains the handover from the temporary airco network to the home router.
- Return the phone to home Wi-FiThe temporary Smart-M-Air network is for setup. Everyday control uses your normal home network.
- Test before doing the next roomRead the current state and change one setting. This catches a wrong password or isolated network before you repeat the work.
If the airco is connected but unavailable in the app
Refresh discovery and compare the saved connection with the router’s current device list. When adding by IP, use the module’s current local address, not the router’s address. A DHCP reservation can keep that address stable in future.
Do not factory-reset every module just because old addresses stopped working. A reset may create more setup work without fixing the actual network problem.
Keep a small handover note
Record which room uses which module and where its label is stored. Keep passwords private. For module-specific pairing details, use the MHI manual finder. If the module is online but undiscoverable, continue with the Wi-Fi connection checklist.
