Mitsubishi Heavy Industries or Electric: which air conditioner app?

Smart M-Air, MELCloud and MyAirco serve different systems. Find the right app by checking your Mitsubishi air conditioner and its adapter.

If you search for a “Mitsubishi air conditioner app”, you will find apps for two different manufacturers. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Mitsubishi Electric are not interchangeable when it comes to Wi-Fi control. The name on the unit matters more than how similar the remote looks.

When buying outside your home country, check the full brand and model number on the equipment label. Regional product names can differ, so choose the app using the fitted Wi-Fi interface rather than a familiar series name.

A quick way to choose

What you haveWhere to start
MHI with a supported Wi-Fi adapterCheck Smart M-Air, or MyAirco for home Wi-Fi control with a WF-RAC or WF-RAC-HTTPS adapter.
Mitsubishi ElectricCheck the official app specified for your adapter and region.
Unknown model or adapterFind the labels or ask the installer before installing an app.

Mitsubishi Electric’s Dutch support page describes MELCloud Home and its supported adapters. MELCloud adapters use a different system and cannot be added to MyAirco.

Find the details without guessing

Check the invoice, handover documents or accessible product label for the full brand and indoor model. Then find the wireless adapter reference in the connection guide. A photo of these details helps an installer answer your question accurately. Keep Wi-Fi passwords out of photos you post publicly.

Do not use the outdoor unit’s appearance, the colour of the logo or the word “inverter” to decide. None of these tells an app which communication system it should use.

What if you installed the wrong app?

Stop trying to reset the air conditioner. Installing another app does not change the hardware inside it. First confirm the adapter, then follow that system’s instructions. Repeated pairing attempts with an unrelated app will not make a device appear.

For a supported MHI module already connected to Wi-Fi, MyAirco can add the existing device on your home network. It does not import a MELCloud account or convert a Mitsubishi Electric system into an MHI system.

Compare features after compatibility

Once you know the hardware, decide whether you need everyday control at home or features such as access while away. MyAirco is a local app with no cloud account. Read the comparison with Smart M-Air for that choice, or use the compatibility checklist if the adapter is still unclear.
