Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Wi-Fi: is your air conditioner compatible?

Check the indoor unit and Wi-Fi module before choosing an app. Learn what MyAirco supports and why a Mitsubishi badge alone is not enough.

To use MyAirco, you need a supported Mitsubishi Heavy Industries air conditioner with Wi-Fi. An air conditioner having Wi-Fi does not automatically mean that every app can control it. Start with the hardware, then choose the software.

Check these three things first

  1. The full brand nameLook at the label or installation paperwork. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Mitsubishi Electric use different control systems. MyAirco supports compatible Heavy Industries Wi-Fi air conditioners.
  2. The indoor unit modelWrite down the complete model number, including its suffix. Similar names can refer to different versions. Use the indoor unit details rather than only the outdoor unit label.
  3. The Wi-Fi interfaceThe adapter is the part that connects your air conditioner to Wi-Fi. MyAirco supports adapters named WF-RAC and WF-RAC-HTTPS. Check the supplied wireless connection guide or ask your installer which one is fitted. Keep the Wi-Fi information label with your paperwork. You do not need to open the electrical compartment to choose an app.

Does “Wi-Fi ready” mean Wi-Fi is installed?

Not necessarily. An optional adapter may still be required. Some units have built-in wireless control, while others need an accessory. Ask the installer to confirm the exact combination rather than buying a module based only on a series name.

The MHI WF-RAC product page lists examples of compatible series for its market. Treat that as a starting point, not a universal list for every country and model year.

Check the interface, wherever you bought the unit

English-language product listings may call the equipment an air conditioner, aircon, AC, heat pump or reverse-cycle split system. Regional series names and model suffixes can differ. None of those names alone confirms MyAirco compatibility: ask your installer to identify the fitted Wi-Fi interface and confirm it is WF-RAC or WF-RAC-HTTPS. For Australian equipment, the manufacturer’s manual library lets you look up the full model number.

MyAirco offers an English interface and Celsius or Fahrenheit. Check the Google Play listing for your country, phone compatibility and local price before buying the app.

If Smart M-Air already controls your unit

That is useful evidence, but still confirm the interface. Once a supported module is on your home network, try adding the existing air conditioner in MyAirco. There is no need to run new Wi-Fi setup merely because you are changing apps.

If discovery does not find it, follow the discovery checklist. A missing result can be a network problem; it is not by itself proof of incompatible hardware.

Choose the app for the job

MyAirco provides Wi-Fi control of power, mode, temperature, fan and supported airflow settings. It does not add hardware features to the air conditioner. Remote access, weekly schedules and energy history are not included. If the hardware is suitable and Wi-Fi control is what you need, continue with the Wi-Fi setup guide.
