Smart-M-Air Wi-Fi says “no internet” during setup

The temporary Smart-M-Air network is for pairing, not browsing. Learn when to stay connected and when to return to your home Wi-Fi.

When your phone joins the temporary Smart-M-Air-XXXX network during MyAirco setup, a “no internet” message can be expected. You are connecting directly to the airco module so the app can pass it your home Wi-Fi details. This temporary network is not your broadband connection.

Stay on the setup network for the handover

If the phone asks whether to keep using a network without internet, choose to stay connected for this setup step. Some phones switch to a saved home network when the temporary connection cannot reach the internet. That can leave the app looking for a module it is no longer connected to.

Return to MyAirco after joining the module network. Check that the Wi-Fi name still matches the module you are setting up, especially if several indoor units are nearby.

Know which password belongs where

  • The module’s KEY is used to join its temporary Smart-M-Air network.
  • Your home Wi-Fi password is entered later, when MyAirco asks which router network the airco should join.
  • A Smart M-Air account password is a separate credential and is not required by MyAirco.

MyAirco keeps the router password in memory during setup and sends it to the module. It does not save that password on the phone.

After sending the router details

The module restarts its Wi-Fi connection and attempts to join the router. Its temporary setup network may disappear during this handover. Reconnect the phone to your normal home Wi-Fi and let the setup flow look for the airco there.

If the phone remains on the temporary network, normal discovery on your home network cannot work. Check the actual connected network, not just whether a Wi-Fi icon is visible.

When “no internet” means a different problem

If the warning appears on your regular home Wi-Fi, check your router and broadband separately. MyAirco’s Wi-Fi control can work without broadband once the unit is configured, but the home Wi-Fi network must still work.

If pairing never completes, check the 2.4 GHz and security settings and follow the full setup guide. Use the manufacturer’s connection guide for your model when the setup network itself does not appear.
